Sci-fi author MAX HAWTHORNE returns to discuss his latest publication, the novella "Purgatory." Jake Braddock is on a mission to get across the Island of Diablo with many encounters with reptilian humanoids and other aquatic cryptids. We will look at the anthropological use of echolocation clicks and reptilian behaviors. We will also hear about Max's battle with an alligator over the summer. Our discussion will also delve into the secrets of being a successful author. How does comedy fit into horror? Does mythology play a relevant role in today's sci-fi literature? We will also look at Max's research into the fossil record that appears in his other publications. Are marine dinosaurs still swimming with us? Max will keep us enthralled with his research and stories and insistence that he is today's Hooper...or is he Quint?
